Lithography or litho printing was discovered by Alois Senefelder. It works on the basic principle that oil and water do not mix. When contact between paper, ink and plate come together it leaves an impression of the creative design. Lithography is easily reconcilable with its smooth flat print that follows the contour of the material.
Use of offset litho printing is useful for business stationery in mono or pms spot colours of 1, 2, 3 or 4 colours that build-up in addition to the 4 colour process. Suitable for printing note paper, business stationery to multipart pads, sets, cards and leaflets. From 60gsm to 400gsm of smooth gloss or silk coated and uncoated, to less smooth and more antique substrates of paper and board.
